30 Weekly BIM Poetry for Deaf Community (Training)

13 peserta bercampur (lelaki dan perempuan) menyertai kursus ini yang diajarkan oleh wanita Pekak daripada kursus pertama sebelum ini sebagai satu latihan. Tujuan kelas ini adalah untuk melahirkan ahli-ahli poet Pekak Malaysia baharu.

13 mixed participants (male and female) joined this course which was taught by the Deaf woman from the previous first course as an exercise. The purpose of this class is to produce new Malaysian Deaf poets.

30 Weekly BIM Poetry for Women (Training)

Seramai 13 wanita mengambil kelas BIM poetry yang diajarkan oleh seorang poet wanita Pekak dari Ireland Bersama 3 tetamu wanita Pekak yang lain juga merupakan poet dan advokasi. Selain daripada mereka, 2 orang poet bukan Pekak turut memberi ceramah tentang makna poem dan multimedia poem. Tujuan kelas ini adalah untuk melahirkan ahli-ahli poet Pekak Malaysia baharu dan melatih para wanita ini untuk memberi pengajaran kepada peserta baharu yang ingin belajar BIM poem.

A total of 13 women took a BIM poetry class taught by a Deaf female poet from Ireland with 3 other Deaf female guests who are also poets and advocates. Apart from them, 2 non-Deaf poets also gave talks about the meaning of poems and the multimedia of poems. The purpose of this class is to produce new Malaysian Deaf poets and train these women to teach new participants who want to learn BIM poetry.

Audism Education

Ini adalah program di bawah DeafMT – Persatuan Media dan Teknologi Pekak Selangor dan Kuala Lumpur. Pihak MyBIM memberi tenaga untuk menterjemah Bahasa Isyarat Amerika Syarikat (ASL) kepada BIM untuk tujuan kesedaran komuniti Pekak tentang audism dalam Pendidikan. Program ini telah menerima sambutan baik daripada 200 orang lebih di media sosial, iaitu Facebook dan YouTube.

This is a program under DeafMT – Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Deaf Media and Technology Association. MyBIM provides the energy to translate American Sign Language (ASL) into BIM for the purpose of raising awareness among the Deaf community about audism in Education. This program has received good response from more than 200 people on social media, namely Facebook and YouTube.

Beyond the Spoken Language : Communicating Through BIM

The programme was organised by Monash Society for Language and Culture which was scheduled to be held on 21 August 2021 through Zoom Meeting. Ms Annie Ong was the speaker. She talked about the Deaf community, culture and BIM. Around 30 university students attended the event.

Projek ini disediakan oleh Galen Centre for Health & Social Policy. Mereka memberi maklumat yang berkaitan dengan kesihatan: diabetes, hypertension dan penyakit jantung. Maklumat kesihatan ini dibaca dan diterjemah oleh dua orang ahli MyBIM kepada BIM melalui bantuan jurubahasa BIM.

Deaf Awareness

The programme was organised by Malaysian Medics International which was scheduled to be held on 6 February 2021 through Zoom Meeting. Ms Daphne Eng and Ms Annie Ong were the speaker. They talked about the Deaf community, culture and BIM. Around 40 university students attended the event.

BIM Sord Collection Project

Mengumpulkan iskata-iskata yang wujud di Malaysia mengikut bentuk tangan. Tujuan adalah untuk kajian yang akan diadakan pada masa depan. Tambahan pula, ini juga membina minat komuniti Pekak untuk memberi sumbangan mereka. Lebih kurang 20 orang telah hantar sejumlah 43 video yang mengandungi setiap 50 iskata BIM.

Collecting the sords that exist in Malaysia according to the shape of the hand. The purpose is for future studies. Furthermore, this also builds interest in the Deaf community to make their contribution. About 20 people have submitted a total of 43 videos containing each of the 50 BIM concepts.
